Ms. Eva Markosh
Director - Far East Division
The accelerated expansion of human activities has produced unforeseen and unplanned negative influences on the environment. This has generated a demand for high quality recruits in those areas of research, planning and management concerned with the quality of the physical environment. These new professionals must be involved in the continuous search for environmentally friendly approaches to socio-economic and spatial development. They need to be trained within a framework of a wide range of academic disciplines.None of these disciplines can, on its own, claim a monopoly over the understanding of dynamics of the interrelationship between human beings and the physical environment. In order to effectively establish and maintain an efficient, cost-effective and economically safe environment, managers, planners and administrators require the tools and knowledge with which to establish policies and programs to cope with the task before them.
This program will assist participants in overcoming the present challenges in the area of environmental management by providing an in-depth training aimed at acquiring new methodologies for approaching and dealing with these difficulties.
The goals of the International Course on Environmental Management are to achieve the following:
* Presentation of the various disciplines that are concerned with the field of environmental studies.
* Examination of the intellectual and administrative tools which the professional environmental manager must have available for use in differing circumstances.
The study program includes the following subjects:
The Manager in a Group
The Philosophy of Change in Leadership
Project Management (Computerized)
Human Resources: Management & Development
Definition of Ecological Problems: Solid Waste, Waste Water, and Air Pollution
Environmental Impact on Health
International Environmental Legislation & Agreements
Solution to Ecological Problems: Technologies and Approaches
Solid Waste: Recycling, Incineration, Pyrolysis, Fermentation
Waste Water Treatment technologies: Intensive & Extensive
Air Pollution: Scrubbers & Filters
Water Resources Management and Irrigation
Hazardous Waste Management
Environmental Economics: Audit & Impact
